As the spring semester winds down at Linköping University, the honorary doctorates are announced and celebrated at the Academic Celebration Ceremony. Each recipient also gives a public lecture open to faculty, students, and the wider community. This year's honorary doctorate for the Faculty of Science and Engineering was none other than NVIDIA's co-founder and CEO, Jensen Huang.
A few classmates and I quickly applied to attend his lecture and were lucky enough to join a fireside chat with Jensen, investor Marcus Wallenberg, and Anders Ynnerman, chair of the Wallenberg Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP).
The session delivered fresh insights into NVIDIA's roadmap, AI's impact on research, and upcoming Swedish investments in accelerated computing. I even learned things I hadn't picked up before—despite already binge-watching and reading many of Jensen's interviews, including his excellent appearance on the Acquired podcast.
